Colorado Lawmakers Take On Probate Abuse

Colorado Senator Laura Woods, her Aide, Cheryl Steinberg, State Sen Pat Steadman, with Richard Sweetman, Legislative Drafter, hosted a meeting Wednesday July 29, at the State Capitol Building In Denver. In attendance were were Shaun Boyd, Mark Ackerman, and a channel 4 News Crew, writer Art Kane, Denver Post Reporter David Olinger, Jeffrey A. Roberts of Colorado Freedom Of Information Coalition, ( a representative of the Colorado Bar Association, Lisa Labriola from Senator Morgan Carroll’s office, Americans Against Abusive Probate Guardians, (, Families Against Court Embezzlement Unethical Standards, (, Coalition Of Families For Elder Rights, ( with two dozen Colorado residents, some wearing masks for fear of contempt citations for speaking out against judges and their appointed Trustees, Legal Guardians, Public Administrators, and Receivers, to suggest changes to the state law. Senator Laura Woods (Arvada), is looking to impose oversight on court-appointed officials. Victims in Probate discussed the national scope of abusive practices and their severity in Colorado, some telling their own heart-breaking story, and proposed 50 different solutions for consideration by Colorado Lawmakers
