  1. To Cheryl Stevens, Active Clerk of The Supreme Court Public Comment. Our concerns with Colorado Rules of Probate Procedure, Rule and Form amendments are moot until Justices follow the rules, and mechanisms for accountability and meaningful redress exist. Many families scammed out of their hard- earned retirement funds and properties have their lives destroyed by Probate court, and efforts to set things right only further undermine a just outcome.

Peter Coulter, a judicial branch watchdog, said many people have “lost trust in the judiciary because things are not transparent … If this judiciary is not transparent and accountable, everyone questions their ability to get a fair hearing.”

  5. It was a sad day at the capitol In Denver Colorado on Thursday February 3, 2017. A bill aimed at making Colorado’s Open Records Act (CORA) apply to the judicial branch was assigned to a “kill” committee where it died on a party-line vote. Big loss for Colorado Citizens!

This input will help guide and pursue legislation to renew the program’s governing statute (CRS 13-5.5-101 et. seq.) which sunsets in 2019.   9. Shouldn’t we expect the judicial branch to follow the law? Unfortunately, that doesn’t appear to be the case. The state commission hasn’t complied with the law because it didn’t send surveys to all the groups it is required to send surveys. The number of Coloradans affected by the rulings of these judges: 5.356 million. If you want to change this situation, vote “Shall NOT be retained” on judges.
